"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear NO evil...", what an amazing picture of confidence King David had as it relates to his faith in God. When I think of all that is going on around us in this country and the world and how this world seems to be spiraling so out of control, I am thankful that David's confidence can be our confidence. As much as there are those who want to make us believe that everything is out of control, I am reminded that God is still in control. David had confidence not in His role as King (which caused him much reason to be afraid) but his confidence came from his life changing, soul stirring, sacrificial love for His God. He says it best at the beginning of this 23rd number of Psalm, "The Lord IS MY Shepherd and I shall NOT be in want..." The second thing that strikes me with this phrase is David's honest assessment of his life, he knew that death is a shadow that follows everyone of us through out our lives. All of us are but just ONE STEP away from death. It is only God's grace that he keeps us. That is even more why we should celebrate the confident hope of knowing Jesus Christ. I pray that you would allow God to be your STABILITY in this increasingly UNSTABLE world. that only can happen when you trust Him as your Savior and allow Him to be Lord in and over your life. God Bless!
